$100 per person. This is an 8 class Session (running each Wednesday through 8.24)
Classes will be Wednesday afternoons from 6:15-7:15 at Obear Park in Beverly.
Students of this class will learn the fundamental principles of Tai Chi and how to apply them in the practice of Yang-style Tai Chi Chuan Short Form. Students will also become acquainted with complementary practices such as Zhan Zhuang, Qi Gong and Bagua Zhang. This class will aim to improve the students understanding of movement, the body’s natural ability to draw in and expend energy efficiently as well as develop a practice that promotes an overall sense of well being.
Instructor Bios:
John Shreffler is currently a teacher and practitioner of two systems of Tai Chi through Master Vijay Son, and resides in Beverly. He also teaches various systems of meditation/Qi Gong through Sifu Mark Wheland at the California Caí Li Fo academy, as well as various systems of animal style Gong Fu. With a twelve year background in security work and 34 years of martial experience John has refined his practice with graceful humility and has tested his mettle with all that he shares. He enjoys practice, practice, practice, and works full time as a farmer.
Paul Findlen is a practicing martial artist, Tai Chi and Yoga instructor who lives in Beverly’s Ryal Side neighborhood. Paul has studied Tai Chi, Zenmudo and Sunmudo with Master Vijay Son. He is currently a student at Great Bay Tai Chi under the instruction of Austin Murray and Master Paul Mahoney. Paul has also trained in boxing with Jack Dullea. Paul received his yoga teacher certification under the tutelage of Deana Bacon and has recently begun training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the Invictus Training Center as a student of head coach Nate Morrison. He enjoys composing and performing music and spending time with his wife, daughter and two dogs.
