Summer Movie Series at Lynch Park: Twister

Look, we simply don’t get enough Helen Hunt anymore as a society. We just don’t. Let alone our having lost Bill Paxton and Phillip Seymore Hoffman so early. Anyways, I figured why not get together as a city and revisit Twister…especially since Universal is releasing a reboot in 2024. Let’s brush up.

Twister is a classic summer blockbuster that according to it’s VHS box, back in 1997, was rated PG-13 for “severe depiction of very bad weather.” True story.

As I write this, I am realizing that this is the second movie this summer featuring Cary Elwes. My apologies. Nothing I can do about it at this point but learn from my mistakes. Won’t happen again.

Instead of a trailer, check out this picture of an 8 year old Bill Paxton waiting outside of JFK’s hotel in Dallas Texas on the morning of the President’s assassination. His father had brought him to see what would become his final speech.
