Introduction to Fly Fishing & Casting (for Adults and Families with Kids 12+)

Have you ever admired the beauty of someone casting a fly line over a beautiful mountain stream? You will complete this workshop with the basic knowledge and skills to start on your own journey to becoming a better fly fishing angler. This hands-on class, taught by Craig Andree will introduce you to the overall concepts of fly casting and focusing on equipment use, care and selection. Fly casting techniques, basic knots and equipment set up will be taught.

All equipment is provided including fly rods, reels, line and flies. Please bring insect repellent, eye protection (i.e. clear safety goggles) and be ready to get your feet wet!

Class is one night, August 18th from 6-dusk. Class is taught at Ober Park in Beverly.

About the teacher: CRAIG ANDREE has been an avid outdoorsman and fly fisher his entire life. He has climbed all of the New Hampshire 4,000 footers as well as Half Dome in Yosemite and Mt. Lassen in Volcanic National Park. He has guided clients on the Allagash Waterway and the 100 Mile Wilderness. Craig has fly fished throughout the United States and has been teaching fly fishing and tying for the last decade. Craig lives in Peabody.
